Dear Dr. Blevins:
It has now been about two years since I saw you regarding various problems. If you recall I visited you for help in the following areas:
1. Severe snoring to the point of banishment to the guest bedroom.
2. Loss of sleep due to restricted and intermittent breathing.
3. Chronic daytime fatigue and periods of sleepiness.
4. Sore jaw muscles.
After much detailed examination you recommended a mouthpiece appliance that I could wear at night plus some mild medication. Since I began wearing the mouthpiece I have experienced dramatic improvement on all four problems. As time passes we tend to forget the bad and remember the good, but were you to ask my wife she could tell you about the sleepless nights due to my snoring and the worry she had when I momentarily stopped breathing. Most of the problems seem to be behind me and are at least manageable. I occasionally experience some minor snoring, usually traced to diet or that extra glass of wine at dinner. The intermittent breathing problems are gone along with the associated daytime fatigue (I walk two miles and run one every day). Sore jaw muscles still come into play on occasion because of some daytime clinching due to tension. Hopefully the day appliance you are constructing now will help in that regard.
In summary, I am well pleased with the dedicated care and genuine concern exhibited by you and your capable staff. Most of all I am happy to understand those problems previously mentioned and to know that you are available to help me work through them.
